About the role
This is a specialist role within Bridgestone’s Internal Audit & Control function, with scope across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. As Lead Auditor, Internal Audit & Controls, you’ll lead and execute audit activities across our ANZ and PNG operations — running operational and J-SOX audit assignments end to end, from planning and risk assessment through to reporting and follow-up with local management.
Beyond the technical audit work, you’ll get into the detail of how our business actually operates, advising on process improvement, leading special investigations when required, and contributing to the ongoing development of the audit function itself. Some travel will be required, with occasional involvement in regional IA initiatives across the BSAPIC region.
Why You’ll Love Working with Us
- Genuine breadth across operational audits, J-SOX, special investigations, and three markets means no two months look the same
- Real access — you’ll be presenting to MD-level leadership, not reporting up through layers
- Competitive salary package, incentives and employee benefits across the Bridgestone group
- Wellbeing programs, financial education and mental health support
- A function that’s genuinely valued — the IA&C team has real standing with the business
About you
You’re a technically strong audit professional who’s equally comfortable presenting findings to a Managing Director as you are working through a complex J-SOX audit. You bring 8+ years of internal audit experience (or a combination of internal and external), a relevant qualification (CIA, CPA, or equivalent), and the kind of commercial mindset that makes your work genuinely useful to the business, not just technically correct. To succeed in this role, you’ll also bring:
- Real audit depth: You’re across internal control frameworks, audit methodology and risk assessment - J-SOX or SOX experience is a genuine advantage here
- A commercial head on audit shoulders: You don’t just identify issues, you understand their business impact and frame recommendations that leadership will actually act on
- The ability to be trusted and independent at the same time: You’ve worked with senior management before, and you know how to hold your position without making it adversarial
- Meticulous without being rigid: You bring a forensic attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture - you’re known for the quality, accuracy and relevance of your work
- Strong written and verbal communication: You can write a clear, well-structured report and present it to a room of senior leaders without losing them
