About the Role
As the Senior Specialist, Management Accountant – Retread, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance of Bridgestone’s retread manufacturing operations across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands-on, high-impact, multi-national role where you’ll:
- Prepare monthly P&L and balance sheet reports and month end processes.
- Drive budgeting and forecasting aligned with Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
- Partner with retread managers and operations teams to deliver financial insights and improvements.
- Champion inventory control, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct reporting and analysis, including cost-volume-profit analysis, ROI assessments, assisting with the preparation of business cases.
- Review capital expenditure requests to ensure budget management and delivery of planned benefits post implementation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, J-SOX, and group policies.
- Support Bridgestone’s vision for ‘Perfect Safety’, E8 Commitment and sustainability reporting standards.
This role offers a unique blend of strategic influence and operational engagement, with regular site visits and collaboration across finance and manufacturing teams.
About You
You’re a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You bring:
- A recognised accounting or finance qualification (CA, CPA, or CIMA).
- Solid experience in cost accounting, BOM management, budgeting and forecasting.
- A strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- A curious mindset and a passion for understanding business drivers and profitability models.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively present financial information to people internally and externally, including all levels of management.
- Demonstrated accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines, including month end.
- A strong commitment to compliance and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in SAP, Power BI (or similar) FP&A tools.
