Job Summary

The incumbent of this role will be responsible for the development of the mid/long-term Supply Plan of Bridgestone’s in-house manufacturing capacity in line with the Manufacturing and Product Development strategy and roadmaps for the China and Asia Pacific (CAP) region. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders from Regional Head Office (including Sales & Marketing, Finance, Corporate Planning) as well as Manufacturing plants, Technical Centre (R&D) and the Head Office in Japan to develop a Supply Plan on a product/SKU level which takes into account the different technical capabilities of our plants, maximizes our output capacity and maximizes profitability for the region. This role will also support the Budget and mid/long-term planning processes for Supply Chain across the region in line with global and regional standards, guidelines and timetables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a sourcing/supply plan which has the capacity to fulfill the demand for new tires across BSCAP whilst meeting our targets in relation to quality and margin and taking into consideration conversion cost, raw material supply, technical abilities, warehousing and transportation requirements, import/export regulations, tariffs, duties, etc.
  • Develop developing a sourcing/supply plan to meet the demand for new tires from other SBUs meeting their targets in relation to quality and cost.
  • Create budget & mid/long-term planning for the supply and allocation to ensure that future production and supply capacity could be secured to meet the demand of the markets.
  • Create regional demand & supply position to ensure consistency locally and globally.
  • Improve supply flexibility with initiating swing size preparation and monitor trial progress and SOP (Start of Production) date.
  • Lead common planning database development and enhance planning data management
  • Support the Strategic Planning lead in formulating the relevant business processes related to mid/long-term supply planning to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Support AM/Manager with managing stakeholders from Manufacturing and CAPTC to resolve mid/long-term supply constraints and Sales & Marketing and Corporate Planning to improve planning processes
  • Support in preparing the sourcing/supply related reports for management reporting.
  • Govern mold investment to ensure that the plants have the necessary molds for production, including possibility of mold transfers between plants.
  • Proactively monitor and support monthly/weekly/daily supply operations.
  • Support seeking any opportunity through collaborating with other functions like logistics, procurement and manufacturing.
  • Any other job as assigned by the immediate Superior or VP Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Industrial & Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Possess 5 - 7 years of relevant working experience in supply planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experiences in liaising with manufacturing plants in the Asia Pacific region would be added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders from across the business. Ability to think laterally.
  • Takes initiative, is a self-starter, possesses ability to think logically and critically, has good analytical abilities and able to handle complex issues and approach them from multiple angles
  • Has the ability to work effectively across culturally diverse teams and be a good team player
  • Has the ability to motivate and influence people
