Job Summary

Responsible for executing regional external communications strategy for external outreach to enhance the Bridgestone brand, and to roll out internal communications initiatives across the region that supports Bridgestone China & Asia Pacific (BSCAP) region’s transformation journey as well as build a regional culture. This role is expected to be the regional/internal expert on Bridgestone’s corporate content and to interface with Head Office in Tokyo, Japan (BSJ) on day-to-day tasks.


This role is also expected to be involved in and to support global projects as well as company sponsored events (ie: Olympics & Paralympics, Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, etc) and to guide the regional group companies in their local in-market usage and activations.


Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 Public Relations (PR)

  • Support strategy development for PR efforts from RHO
  • Execute RHO’s PR strategy and efforts across region, which include vetting, editing and drafting press releases, coordination with BSJ, interview response development, information checking, content creation, etc
  • Support Group Companies’ Public Relations efforts in the region (press release editing, interview response development, etc)
  • Management of Regional Corporate Website
  • Manage and update corporate collaterals
  • Lead external agencies in conducting external communications / PR / corporate communications activities on behalf of Bridgestone in earned channels (ie: media)
  • Support external award applications for BSCAP SBU
  • Collaborate with other functions, such as marketing, to level up quality of external communications across our channels, such as social media
  • Support the company in media-related matters when a crisis occurs


Internal Communications

  • Creation of internal communications strategy and execution of related activities.
  • Support ongoing development of internal communications platforms such as regional & local intranet
  • Plan, coordinate and execute regional internal awards (BVA, R-TQM)
  • Own, plan and execute quarterly townhalls & support both local and regional employee engagement activities
  • Support both planned & ad-hoc top management message creation & dissemination
  • Development of assets for internal information sharing


Brand Management

  • Support Corporate Brand related work such as the rollout of new initiatives, assets & guidelines across the region
  • Be the internal/expert with regards to Bridgestone’s Corporate Identity, to support group companies and other internal stakeholders when necessary, to ensure compliance to CI guidelines.


Global / Regional Projects Management

  • Support execution of the global projects within SBU, including guidance to group companies for in-market local activations, regional communications, CSR and employee engagement activities
  • Represent SBU for global projects including participation in working teams, information gathering, coordination with regional stakeholders, and reporting to the global team.


  • Diploma / Degree in Business Administration, Arts and Social Science, Mass Communications or its equivalent with business background would be preferred.
  • Preferable 5-6 years of relevant working experiences in similar capacity.
  • Candidate with experience in content creation, campaign management, and/or performing regional roles in the BSCAP region will have added advantageous
  • PR Agency experience is a plus


Candidate should demonstrate:

  • Proficient understanding on framework of PR, CSR, communication functions
  • Be the organization’s guardian for corporate content, messages and information
  • Coordination between BSJ and Group Companies for Olympics & Paralympics as well as Communications related tasks
  • Able to communicate in professional English for official and formal writing and editing
  • Able to effectively communicate with regional teammates by using clear & simple English
  • Having skill of multi-national language of our region is preferred.
  • Capable of executing internal and external communications strategy that is aligned towards achieving both business and organizational goals
  • Basic functional understanding of owned digital platforms and how to leverage them to enhance corporate reputation
  • Proactive team player able to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Excellence interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with multi-national counterparts
  • Able to coordinate and organize meetings in order and organized manner.
  • Able to understand basic business knowledge like financials of P&L and B/S.
