Job Summary

The Regional Lead for Supply Planning & International Operations is responsible for the short/medium term supply planning activities as well as international order management operations with the prime objectives of maximizing order fulfilment to the markets, manufacturing asset utilization and profitability. The incumbent will lead a regional team, which acts as the direct interface on any supply/fulfilment related matters to the markets across the China and Asia Pacific region, to each of the regional manufacturing plants and to the Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) team in Japan. In addition, this team is also responsible for leading the regional IBP/S&OP process and will support the annual budgeting and mid-term planning process. A successful incumbent of this role will be someone who has strong expertise in supply planning, order fulfilment and international shipping/logistics processes, has excellent interpersonal relationships development skills, can perform under pressure, has attention to detail whilst seeing the bigger picture, is good with numbers, can connect the dots and has the ability to manage team performance and attract and develop talent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage short/medium term supply strategies, lead the Regional International Business Planning/Supply & Operations Planning processes
  • Integrate supply planning, order management within the IBP/S&OP process, and act as the direct interface to all regional and global committes and countries. 
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to assess operational capacity and capability so as to develop supply planning strategies including source swing options.
  • Support and execute the supply network capabilities together with Global SCM and the other Strategic Business Unit’s in order to maximize the collaboration with the Global Supply Chain team as well as the optimal utilization of the manufacturing assets for the inter- SBU export business.
  • Serve as the focal point for the Regional Sales & Marketing/in-country Business Unit leaders to support regional and local business plans, its revision, and new initiatives execution including new product launches and strategic stock level.
  • Support the setting of KPIs for regional and local Supply Chain with focus on inventory management for both plants and Group Companies, and support the manufacturing plants with their rough-cut capacity planning.
  • Manage production orders within the product portfolio based on resource/supply situation at maximum customer service level, commitment of deliveries and revenue.
  • Ensure replenishment requests by the countries are consistent with the current and future demand forecasts, the recommended safety stock and reorder quantity levels. Coordinate inventory movement in the region and lead effort to minimize excess inventory and obsolescence costs. 
  • Generate demand verses supply scenarios on customer upside, global sourcing, new product launches and product obsolescence planning through Product Life Management (PLM).
  • Work with Strategic Planning to outline the strategy and execution plans for optimizing supply in each Group Company.
  • Support Strategic Planning to create Bridgestone China and Asia Pacific (BSCAP) Mid-Term Plan (MTP) and Budgets.
  • Manage timely and accurate reporting to BSCAP and Global Management.
  • Improve the supply chain planning value stream by proposing enhancements to processes, procedures and planning tools in coordination with cross functional team.
  • Provide better utilization of information tools to support Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing Planning and Logistics both in local and regional offices.
  • Organize, lead and manage the Order Fulfilment team in full accordance with SOP and Work Instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Operation requirements (trade compliance, regulatory, legal, internal/external audits).
  • Lead and manage the supply chain planning and order management systems implementation project to improve efficiency in the operations and planning processes.
  • Manage team performance, identify and groom potential staff for further development. Build up the existing team planning skill sets to improve the efficiency of the end-to-end supply chain process.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12-15 years supply chain planning experience with at least 7 years as a people leader
  • Proven record of accomplishment and experience in demand and supply planning with demonstrated ability to lead and implement process improvement in supply chain planning.
  • Prior experience or exposure within the Asia Pacific region in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
  • Experience to support the digital transformation of from manual/semi-automated processes into a work-class supply chain operation through the implementation of new order management and supply planning solutions and processes would be preferred.
  • Proficient working knowledge of supply chain planning and ERP software (SAP, JDA, OMP, etc) as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strategic thinking, customer oriented and able to relate with people at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively work in teams. Ability to work with people from different cultures.
  • Good people management, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to build relationships across the organization and all geographic regions
  • Serves as a change agent to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage competing priorities and solve problems independently
  • Strong analytical ability, project management and implementation experiences.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus.
