Job Summary

This is a new position reporting to the Head of Regional Compliance where the incumbent will play an important role in the continuous improvement of Bridgestone’s global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and will be pivotal for its implementation in the Bridgestone China Asia Pacific (BSCAP) region.

Align with the directions set out by the Manager, the incumbent will manage the ERM program by partnering closely with stakeholders locally, regionally, and globally to establish and communicate the ERM Framework, risk management methodology, processes, risk appetite and risk culture, help identify key enterprise risks and drive the development of risk response strategies to support and protect the execution of our local, regional and global strategies. 

In addition, the incumbent will work with all BSCAP group companies and functions to create and maintain an actionable, risk based, and proactive Business Continuity program. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the Implementation and management of the global ERM Framework in BSCAP in order to establish an effective risk-based system to identify, measure, monitor, and control enterprise-wide risks. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Manage and facilitate risk identification and assessment activities with top functional and group company leaders to ensure a consistent and sustainable process.
    • Support BSCAP risk owners in the development, monitoring and reporting of their risk response actions.
    • Work alongside dedicated regional peers in the global Chief Risk Officer Council, coordinating and facilitating the implementation of global mandates, policies and processes, and other requirements in the region.
    • Develop, maintain and communicate detailed risk management policies and processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders at different levels across BSCAP to help drive a risk-aware culture which ensures both value creation and value protection by demonstrating the value of risk management, educating the business, and finding opportunities to integrate risk principles into our ways of operating.
  • Develop and organize training and refresher activities for stakeholders on the ERM framework, concepts and tools as well as manage and maintain the ERM tool for the region.
  • Support and prepare reports, where required for key meetings such as the Executive Committee meetings, Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee meetings, and the Board of Directors meetings etc.
  • Develop and maintain the BSCAP Business Assurance Policy & Process based on the Global Principle and Framework.
  • Drive and assist BSCAP group companies and functions in their development, implementation and training of key Business Continuity Management program components such as scenario building, risk evaluation, business impact analysis, mitigation strategies, crisis management plans and testing.
  • Manage any other duties as assigned by the Head of Regional Compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferred concentrations in finance, business, legal or related discipline. Risk management certifications, e.g. RIMS, CRMA will be a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the Enterprise Risk Management with regional exposure.
  • Led key risk management workstreams at prior organizations.
  • Experience in risk management related activities in complex multinational organizations or international consultancy.
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or technology/mobility organizations would be favorably viewed.
  • Engaged with senior leaders on a regular basis.
  • Fluency in English and at least another Asian language.
  • Resilient, agile, and always independent and objective.
  • A strong communicator with an ability to translate technical and detailed information into a clear and easy-to-understand message and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence others without direct authority to achieve business objectives.
  • A Team player who is proactive and well-organized in providing consistent, high-quality output in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to manage prioritization logically.
