Indirect Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

  • Be responsible to implement regional category excellence and the development/execution of the master plan for indirect procurement.
  • Lead and support the execution of procurement initiatives and operations including the review and deployment of procurement policies, streamlining of processes, and system optimization resulting in productivity improvement.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

 

Category Management

  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation of strategic sourcing and management for selected categories in China & Asia Pacific, based on shot to long term strategies, market intelligence, analytics, and priority setting aligned with key stakeholders in the region.
  • Lead the transition from category management to category excellence. Identify and prioritize value creation opportunities and develop regional master plan to deliver Indirect Procurement OGSM and Mid-term Business Plan (MBP).

 Strategic Sourcing

  • Identify and lead complex sourcing and procurement projects.
  • Effectively manage suppliers and internal networks for quality delivery on time, with desired goals and achievements.
  • Manage a wide variety of sourcing and procurement activities, including RFx/Auction, spend pattern analysis, bid/negotiate, contract, SRM, etc.
  • Identify and report key performance metrics to measure success of procurement initiatives and drive continuous improvement on longer run.
  • Make decisions in relation to execution of sourcing strategy and effectively deal with tactical issues within the portfolio of projects and processes.

 Regional Center of Excellence (COE)

  • Act as a regional sourcing and procurement COE in consultation with the business stakeholders on procurement strategies, processes, policies, and best practices in relation to indirect materials and services spend.
  • Implement and execute the centralization of indirect procurement activities across various business entities/departments/group companies.
  • Effective engagements with key counterparts and stakeholders across BSCAP via regular review meetings and updates; provide necessary training and guidance to internal users and customers on procurement policies and work processes.
  • Be a good team player. Collaborate and develop strong partnership with Finance, Legal, and Technical counterparts, for day-to-day operations and project management.

Requirements

  • Degree holder, with over 8 years in-depth strategic sourcing and procurement experience and practices (e.g. category management, spend analytics and benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, negotiation and contracting), preferably with at least 4 years in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation environment.
  • Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting strategies and goals of negotiation; Able to conduct negotiations and achieve desired goals.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing with demonstrated leadership abilities on project management and change management.
  • Result-oriented with proven ability to deliver results in challenging environment with fast star-up.
  • High proficiency in relationship management for bother internal and external.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, as well as procurement software (i.e. Coupa, Ariba, etc.)
  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Self-driven and motivated individual, with excellent organization and analytical skills.
  • Proactive thinking and actions.
