Direct Material Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

The incumbent will play a vital role in executing the full cycle of Raw material Procurement, including the negotiating and allocation of raw materials considering the supply chain optimization for each GCs, managing and enhancing the relationship with suppliers, deployment of sustainable procurement policy for AP region.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

Procurement strategy planning and decision making support

  • Support to develop Procurement strategy to enhance procurement foundation (BCP, CSR, Visualization)
  • Support to prepare and plan Raw material budget for each Group Company (GC).
  • Monitor and report the raw material cost / inventory with the analysis of cost variance / inventory report.
  • Track KPIs and monitor its progress (including data visualization, gap analysis and improvement action coordination) to achieve the procurement performance targets.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination of all raw materials procurement across the Asia Pacific region to control the raw materials costs.
  • Attend global and regional conference and/or seminars based on indication from superior

 

Manage procurement foundation operations with strategic approach

  • Manage data collection / analysis / progress management related to Procurement activities and strategic projects.
  • Propose and lead the visibility and supply flexibility increase activity through the system establishment.
  • Lead and coordinate all related team/sections to roll out the strategic projects (cost and cash optimization).
  • Promote Regional sustainable procurement activities (supplier assessment, supplier meeting, etc.) based on Global policy, direction and schedule.
  • Supervise and improve procurement foundation process (Standard, policy, compliance, governance)
  • Improve visibility and flexibly by implementing visualization solution, demand forecasting system, etc.
  • Monitor, report and manage the risk on Raw material supply chain.

 

GCs purchasing activities support and improvement

  • Facilitate and support the communication between each GCs in Asia Pacific region and Global procurement in HQ.
  • Support to prepare Raw materials budget for each GC.
  • Propose ideas and support executions to each GCs for GCs’ purchasing operation and cost improvement
  • Support GCs’ purchasing foundation improvement to achieve mid-long term procurement strategies.
  • Plan and coordinate the Regional procurement / purchasing meeting to support the mid-long term strategic procurement activities with GCs for the further enhancement of procurement foundation.
  • Organize GCs monthly meeting to provide timely support for GCs’ operation.

 

Procurement team activity lead, support and coordination

  • Lead team activities and support the management in Raw material procurement
  • Coordinate and take initiative relevant team, section and division for team activity and/or Project such as visibility increase, system establishment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Procurement / Business Management or its equivalent discipline with at least 8 years or more relevant experience in sourcing and procurement operations, and/or Strategic planning experience.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in end-to-end Procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Prior experience or exposure Procurement operations in a manufacturing environment within the Asia Pacific region or globally would have added advantageous.
  • Strategic thinking, customer oriented and able to relate with people at all levels.
  • Strong analytical ability, project management and implementation experiences
  • Have experience of the or is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively work in teams. Ability to work with people from different cultures.
  • Good people management, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to build relationships across the organization and all geographic regions
  • Serves as a change agent to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage competing priorities and solve problems independently to meet goal/deadline in a fast-pace working environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and and Knowledge/experience of Tableau and SAP.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus as this role would require to interact with various stakeholders across Asia Pacific region.
