BSAP-Direct Material Procurement Analyst

Job Summary

The incumbent will play a vital role in the full cycle of Raw Material Procurement, including the regular monitoring and controlling of Raw Materials Costs for each of the Group Companies (GC), managing and enhancing the Procurement operations efficiency and effectiveness, deployment of sustainable Procurement policy and improvement initiatives/projects for the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

Procurement strategy planning and decision making support

  • Propose the direction/strategy idea for mid-term & short term through the discussion with Manager and/or to support the direction/strategy making process by providing analysis result/data timely.
  • Identify the gaps/issues between ideal state and current situation.
  • Set the concreate actions & milestone to achieve the direction/strategy or to fill the gap.
  • Execute agreed actions swiftly and coordinate with the Group Companies in the region in executing the agreed actions.
  • Support to prepare Raw material budget and inventory target for each GCs.

Manage / Support Procurement buyer operations with strategic / analytical approach

  • Monitor and report the status/progress (including data collection/summary/visualization) of agreed actions in each monthly management reporting (procurement Cost/Cash optimization project, etc.)
  • Collect and Monitor market information for each Raw materials.
  • Collect & manage the actual sourcing data
  • Perform buyer operation as assigned by the Manager.
     

Manage procurement foundation operations with strategic / analytical approach

<Raw material cost and Inventory control>

  • Coordinate and consolidate monthly raw materials cost and inventory report from the GCs Purchasing team and submit the monthly reports to the Management
  • Monitor and report the raw material cost/inventory with the analysis and visualization of cost variance/ inventory report to Manager and the Buyers.
  • Analyze and report the reason of changes/gaps of each GC in comparison with month-on-month, year-on-year, original budget, and mid-term plans.
  • Identify the improvement points based on the analysis and propose improvement plans/actions/guideline to Manager, Buyer & GCs in order to control the inventory/cost within target.
  • Collaborate with GCs to execute the agreed action plans timely, and provide necessary supports to GCs.

 <Sustainable procurement execution and CSR enhancement>

  • Promote sustainable procurement activities based on global policy, direction and schedule.
  • Plan the supplier meeting and propose to Manager for approval.
  • Propose necessary items/action, resources required, assign the members to support the supplier meeting and propose/agree on each member’s role.
  • Execute overall plan, including communication to suppliers, meeting schedule and activities 
  • Monitor and improve supplier assessment progress and update supplier list periodically.
  • Improve the supplier assessed ratio/coverage through the collaboration with Buyer and GCs.
  • Propose and execute the actions to improve supplier CSR level by aligning with Global direction.

 <Procurement foundation enhancement>

  • Monitor, propose, and improve procurement foundation process for further efficiency
  • Response to surveys/questionnaire for procurement process/audit and collect information required from the relevant GCs to complete the surveys/questionnaire.
  • Support the activity for visibility and supply flexibility improvement 
  • Monitor, report and manage the risk on Raw material supply chain.

Group Companies (GCs) purchasing activities support and improvement

  • Support GC’s purchasing foundation improvement
  • Support GCs in resolving the difficulties/challenges in the procurement operations, where necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Procurement / Business Management or its equivalent discipline with at least 4 years or more relevant experience in sourcing and procurement operations, and/or Strategic planning experience.
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in end-to-end Procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Prior experience or exposure in Procurement operations in a manufacturing environment within the Asia Pacific region or globally would have added advantageous.
  • Have experience of the visibility solution or system establishment is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage competing priorities and solve problems independently to meet goal/deadline in a fast-pace working environment.
  • Strong analytical ability with eyes for details.
  • Good project management skills and serves as a change agent to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively work in teams, and with people from different cultures and levels.
  • Good people management, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to build relationships across the organization and all geographic regions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) and knowledge/experience of Tableau and SAP would be preferred.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus as this role would require to interact with various stakeholders across Asia Pacific region.
