Job Summary

Reporting to the Regional Compliance Lead, the incumbent is responsible for all compliance matters of the Group Companies (GCs) across the China and Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

  • Support in implementing and reviewing regional compliance policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant internal policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of the regional industry trends, news and changes in relevant laws and regulations and update the relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist Regional Compliance Lead in liaising with regional colleagues closely to enable knowledge and best practice sharing through sharing of and resolving common issues and problems.
  • Maintain constructive and effective relationships with the businesses and assist Regional Compliance Lead to interface with and support key business stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance the compliance framework (i.e., how to set-up, run and maintain a compliance programme).
  • Support in managing and reporting of the regional whistleblowing platform and compliance escalations from the business.
  • Assist and coordinate in investigations for ethics and compliance issues, including planning activities/developing a work plan.
  • Assures appropriate follow up regarding questions/issues that may arise, exercising sound judgment with a high level of confidentiality, sensitivity and timeliness.
  • Maintain and support in the regional Third Party Screening program and its related operational matters.
  • Develop and organize creative compliance activities and support compliance initiatives in the region.
  • Monitor the conduct of employees through reviews and providing relevant training, and collaborating with the Person-In-Charge of each GC to ensure the compliance on standards and
  • Support in coordinating and planning Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee meeting.
  • Conduct routine administrative works to support legal and compliance works, for example, coordinating and managing the local and regional ledgers for G&E, annual and ad-hoc Conflict of Interests (COI) declarations and support of Global Legal Operations for the region.
  • Manage any other duties as assigned by the Regional Compliance Lead.

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Law / Compliance or similar discipline.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experiences in the Compliance function or similar capacity (e.g. internal controls, legal, audit) in a global multi-national company environment (e.g. audit firm, legal firm).
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and corporate compliance capability.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to think logically and critically, strong analytical abilities and able to handle complex issues and approach them from multiple angles.
  • Take initiative, is a self-starter with the ability to work effectively across culturally diverse teams and be a good team player.
  • Able to work independently in ambiguous and changing environments, along with great listening, collaboration, resilience and partnering skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customer-oriented mindset, and able to relate with people at all levels.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders from across the business.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; any other language is a plus as this position requires to interact with the stakeholders in the China and Asia Pacific region.
