Job Summary

The position is fully responsible for and takes the lead in developing, enhancing and growing strategic premium sales channels in Bridgestone China markets, for both PSR Consumer tyre & TBR Commercial tyre, to meet business objectives in Bridgestone’s replacement tyre businesses. While reforming the foundation of existing retail sales network, to work closely with Mobility Solution functions, both regionally and locally, the aim is to transform existing retail sales channels into the network to serve our customers by providing Bridgestone premium tires and services, and ultimately, to become as mobility solution service network under the global vision of Bridgestone T&DPaaS (Tire & Diversified Products As A Solution).

This role is one of the key responsibility in Bridgestone China to enable our continuous and sustainable business growth towards future.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the reformation of retail sales channel network to be the strong sales network to serve our targeted premium end-user customers in China market for both PSR Consumer tyre and Commercial tyre.

Key Areas:

Premium retail channel development for PSR consumer tyre

  • To develop and execute PSR consumer tire retail channel reformation plan for Bridgestone loyal stores of family channel network to become premium retailers to promote Bridgestone premium tires and high quality services to provide pleasant purchase experiences to the targeted premium car owners.
  • For initial execution, it is essential to reform the current existing family channel operations, by focusing on; 1) Enhancement of head quarter organization & supporting functions, 2) Enhancement to draw more premium customers to Bridgestone family channel network by optimizing the traditional offline and the digital online communication platforms in parallel by utilizing customer data to precisely reach our targeted customers, and 3) Enhancement of retail store sales and operation management support which will be enabled by developing strong Retail Store Supervising functions.
  • While reforming the current, it is essential to develop enhanced future retail family channel model to be continuously selected by our targeted customers and to be competitive among our competitors.
  • To realize the reformation, it is essential to develop a firm and seamless family channel transition plan.

Premium retail channel development for TBR commercial tyre

  • To develop an attractive TBR commercial tire retail sales channel network through enhancing the channel supporting programs to become from existing traditional sales channel to solution service providers.
  • For execution, it is essential to continuously promote the sales by focusing on Bridgestone premium products through utilizing effective traditional offline and digital online platforms, and to further enhance the service capability of Bridgestone family channel to be more competitive and preferred service points for truck and bus tire user drivers as well as more focusing on fleet business customers.

 

Common initiatives

  • Ensure compliance to Bridgestone brand standards in retail visual identity, and lead effort to keep retail store image standards neat & clean and updated.
  • Support Bridgestone standard retail sales setup and operating model.
  • Develop effective promotional activities to drive demand and increase customer traffic and retention.
  • Provide market specific retail services and shopper experience improvements to drive customer trafic.
  • Facilitate and promote sharing of best practices in retail store sales and operations.

 

Leadership/ People Development

  • Focus on people and organization effectiveness by leading, coaching and motivating the team in the pursuit of operational excellence. Ensure that key talents in the organization are properly identified, retained and developed, and that succession plans are in place for key roles.
  • Improve team capability development and cross-functional collaboration. Build teamwork, inclusion, transparency, respect and trust.
  • Drive performance culture, reward performers and manage underperformers.
  • Provide timely & constructive feedback to raise team performance for continuous improvement
  • Inspire, coach and guide team.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing team with regional functions and provide mediation & alignment where necessary.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Post Graduate Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong general management, operational experience and proven track record in P&L, with at least 12 years of management experience in a large global corporation, preferably in automotive and consumer products.
  • Strategic driven, possess critical thinking with strong commercial orientation in B2B, B2C or B2B2C
  • An individual who possesses a combination of strategic vision and strong operational excellence & bottom-line capabilities.
  • Extensive experience across the Greater China region and market dynamics.
  • Experience in matrix-based structure, collaborative organization setting and managing through cross functional teams.
  • Experience of executing multiple highly complex and/or strategic brand marketing initiatives and projects.
  • Possess creative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative leadership in developing marketing strategies and communications programs that engage a variety of diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities to direct and manage teams, including the ability to identify talent, build teams, mentor and develop team members, and inspire performance that exceeds expectations and retains resources.
