About the role

 

Join our Supply Chain team in this newly created position – reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain where you will support the execution of our strategic sourcing plan for the entire BSANZ business. You will manage the strategic upstream activity and facilitate the development of supplier relationships through best practice.

 

You will need technical knowledge, analytic capability and effective communication skills to work autonomously to administer, operate and organise the contract and procurement process efficiently.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Execute procurement plans and strategic sourcing to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations related to our + $300 Million AUD annual indirect spend.
  • Facilitate end to end contract negotiations with current and potential suppliers
  • Execute a systematic approach for identification and operational management of supply chain risks, to avoid, mitigate or eliminate negative impacts to Bridgestone and our customers
  • Contribute to developing our preferred supplier model and end to end management for all stakeholders
  • Implement frameworks for established contracts and vendors to ensure contracted service delivery is maintained, monitored and reported against
  • Lead supplier escalations and engagement where supplier performance is below established targets
  • Create, release and ensure correct closure of purchase orders

About you

 

  • Experience in Procurement, Contract Management, Purchasing, or Supply Chain within an operational environment
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field is desirable
  • Proven commercial acumen and negotiator, with thorough understanding of category/procurement management, supply chain mechanisms and risk assessment
  • Experience in a multinational company (not essential but preferred)
  • Cost accounting knowledge, with the ability to conduct detailed cost analysis, compare costs using TCO principles, analyse market trends and calculate should-costs
  • Ability to achieve operational procurement objectives in line with business strategy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate favourable terms and contracts with suppliers and build relationships at all levels of the organisation
